19-Jan-24 12:30  TRB Iberico Liangmahe  For our January lunch we are trying out a new venue called Iberico.

This elegant restaurant is part of Ignace Lecleir's TRB Group and the second one under the Iberico brand .

The restaurant opens with an art gallery-like foyer that can accommodate 80 people standing, which leads to a larger dining area with table seating, a bar, a mini lounge (with fireplace), and a stage, plus excellent views of the Liangma River.

The Gin Tonic menu is intriguing, with 25 gins, five tonic waters and 21 garnish options, thus making for thousands of combinations. These are prepared tableside.

Chef Luis Wei from Spain has created an impressive menu for us.

This elegant * Michelin restaurant has built up a loyal fan base with its friendly service and quality food at affordable price points.

Instead of typical Shandong classics, the chef, who hails from the province, champions a menu that prominently features seafood shipped from Weihai port daily. The braised sea cucumber with scallion, which takes five days to prepare. Certain popular items tend to run out early, but rest assured that we have pre-ordered sufficient quantities.

18-Aug-23 12:30  Meat by Ernest  Ernest Yan has hosted us annually for the last couple of years. Our August lunch will be held at Ernest’s new digs on August 18.

Ernest specializes in aged beef, which he ages on site.

Dry-ageing takes up to 45 days, during which the meat loses up to one third of its weight as moisture.

You can expect perfectly cured meat which Ernest prepares in his kitchen for us.

His steak tartare is hand carved as he believes that machine-carved meat is too finely carved and is more akin to soup. Expect this lunch to be be carnivorous carnage.

This will like last year, for logistics there will be no bus, nor breakfast, participants will make their own way there. There will be wine tasting following, char grilled steaks, wines, beer on the course and prizes. Just a friendly day on the golf course drinking and joking.

As always, the day ends with a great BBQ dinner outside of the Clubhouse overlooking the 18th green with Master chef George Lillie on the Grill and wonderful wines from The Wine Republic.

CADDIES ARE PART OF THE TEAM We will have a similar format as last year. Your caddy is really part of your team. Your caddy is allowed (not a MUST like last year) to putt on all Par 3’s. They will compete for longest putt competition and one other team competition that will be announced on the day.

As always, you are free to have your caddy hit for you at any time and offering them drinks is part of the fun.

GENERAL RULES AND FORMAT
There are no handicaps needed for this tournament. It is Peoria, so basically anyone can win. Different from last year, you can bring all 14 clubs instead of 5. We have trophies and prizes for the low gross and low net winners. We also have prizes for nearest the pin and long drive. No out of bounds or lost balls. Play everything like a lateral hazard (drop nearby where it was lost and add one stroke) The maximum score on any hole is Triple Bogie. If you are two over and have not holed out, write par plus three over and move on.

HIGHLIGHTS/
Wine Tasting by The Wine Republic will follow the golf. There will be some new wines for us to try. TWR staff will be driving around in the cart serving us beer, water and wine - helping us get drunk.

Hotdogs for lunch (from George and Tuya) before we set out to play. Steaks cooked to order, as always, supplied and cooked by our master chef George Lillie. A nice selection of wines will be provided by the Wine Masters for the dinner.

You are welcome to come for golf, or just dinner. Guests are welcome and we will be opening up the event to the BGC. Please register asap. If you have not already done so, please get back me as soon as possible. Let us know if you will join for golf or just the BBQ dinner.

ABOUT COSTS
This is designed to break even and this year we will purchase some wines for the dinner and some wines from the cellar. Therefore, the cost will include wines, dinner, and the overhead costs to run the event.

Members: 800 RMB Guests: 900 RMB

BnB fees include:
- Hot dogs for lunch
- beer and wines on the course
- dinner (steaks and side dishes)
- condiments
- golf balls
- trophies, etc.

BnB fees must be paid by WeChat to Magnus or in cash at the event to Sean. Green fees are paid directly to the golf course (credit cards are OK) @850 RMB. Orient members can enjoy the member's rate.

Please note the this is going to be an outdoor event and therefore casual dress code applies.

Hatsune is one of Alan’s restaurants.

The menu will be an eclectic mix of Japanese inspired dishes, custom designed for BnB, featuring Wagyu steak provided by our own George.

Ernest specializes in aged beef, which he ages on site.

Dry-ageing takes up to 45 days, during which the meat loses up to one third of its weight as moisture.

You can expect perfectly cured meat which Ernest prepares in his open kitchen for us.

His steak tartare is hand carved as he believes that machine-carved meat is too finely carved and is more akin to soup. Expect this lunch to be be carnivorous carnage.

The date is Friday, 4 June and the tee time is 12:30, for the 2021 President’s Cup at Orient Tianxing Golf Club.

For those unaware, this a golf tournament. In reality, it is just a bunch of friends out on the golf course drinking and joking around, and hitting a few golf balls. As always, the day ends with a great BBQ dinner outside of the Clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. We have been running this tournament now for many years and for some it is the only golf tournament played. Even if you do not play golf, it is a fun day out.

CADDIES ARE PART OF THE TEAM
We will have a similar format as last year. Your caddy is really part of your team. Your caddy must putt on all Par 3’s. They will have the longest putt competition and we are working out another team competition with you and your caddy.

As always, you are free to allow your caddy to hit for you at any time. After so many drinks, we often let our caddies hit a lot for us anyway, and some are really quite good. Give your caddy a couple of drinks and have some fun.

GENERAL RULES AND FORMAT
There are no handicaps needed for this tournament. It is Peoria, so basically, anyone can win. We have trophies and prizes for the low gross and low net winners. We also have prizes for the near pin and long drive.
